ps. I think the code for your little button may be broken. Or it;s just me. Being dense. One of the two!
Oh goodness. Congrats on your engagement!! I read your post about it earlier and almost cried!! I think I fell in love with the most was the hanger with Bride or Mrs. (new last time) made in the wire part of the hanger.

I always think of pictures when I think about weddings, b/c sure you'll have the memories of everything, but the pictures are what you'll have and be able to look at forever. I think this hanger makes amazing picture opportunities and wish I would have done it.

Wow! What an awesome engagement, one you will definitely never forget! I wish you happy planning, it's both fun and stressful and I can't wait to see all your great wedding posts!
ReplyDeleteI am always falling in love with things from other people's weddings and wishing I would have done that at my own. Something I really liked recently was using a book made from all your engagement photos as your guestbook, it is something you will look through all the time and never get sick of!
xo.

I think the biggest thing that we took away from the weddings before ours were things that we didn't want to do. (I know that sounds horribly negative, but our wedding was a bit off beat...)
ReplyDeleteFor instance, we didn't like sitting around waiting for food while people did pictures. To solve this, at our wedding, we took photos before the ceremony and had a buffet so noone needed to be served. :)
I haven't been to weddings other than my own. Something unique I did was play ALL Michael Jackson music, except the Bridal march. I always loved MJ and it was the fall after his death, so it seemed fitting.
ReplyDeleteAn original wedding idea... hmmmmm. I don't know if it was super original, but when I was in my best friend's wedding we all entered into the reception partying out to the White Sox theme song. It was pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteI actually had seen the idea on Pinterest and then saw it at a wedding in "real life"....it was the thumbprints guest book idea where people leave their thumbprints and then sign their names. Really cute (and pretty) idea!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....after the ceremony we carried the groom outside the church and sprayed him (and his rented tuxedo) with the water hose? Because he was our youth pastor and water fights were a tradition in our youth group.
ReplyDeleteThat may not be the kind of tradition anyone would want to emulate, but it was memorable! And they had already taken their pictures, and the bride loved it--she was cracking up the whole time.
When my aunt and uncle got married, my cousin and I took part in a ceremony involving pouring sand into jars as a memorial for those who couldn't be there. It was lovely, especially since we were in Charleston, SC near the water :)
ReplyDeleteSo exciting to start planning wedding stuff! My wedding was 7 years ago and I feel like even though it isn't that long ago there are so many cute ideas now - where was pinterest 7 years ago????
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I said it yet (I very well may have), but congratulations!

I think my comment disappeared! My favorite original wedding idea is to have the ring bearer carry a sign that says "here comes the bride!" :)
ReplyDeleteSo excited to hear all about your plans! I completely agree with Katie - where was Pinterest when I got married? I had to actually buy magazines, and I had a folder where I kept torn out pages of ideas I liked. One thing I really liked that we did (and I hadn't seen previously) was having our own little table at the reception, instead of a big table for the whole wedding party. We got to spend some time "alone" and then our wedding party could sit wherever they wanted, with their dates and other friends.
ReplyDeleteOne of my friends got customized Chuck Taylor sneakers in her wedding colors, for herself and her bridesmaids. So they all changed into them for the reception, and then had awesome new shoes! I thought that was a really fun idea.
Hello, I am a new follower (#105) visiting from the blog hop. Congrats on your engagement. That is awesome news. Beautiful ring!
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad that pinterest has kinda taken the orginality out of wedding planning. However, I was at a wedding a few weeks ago where the bride's aunt had made placemats with cute questions for people to fill out during dinner since there wasn't a dance!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen them done in person, only on pinterest or on other blogs. And I don't really think it's original, anymore, but I love it when weddings use old fashion photo booths. I love photo booths. And not the kind that allow you to add weird words like little angels or little devils above your pictures. I find that weird. I just like the plain photo strips. Really cute.
ReplyDeleteokay.. make a slide show of all your pics from childhood to the time you are having now.. and maybe you could play it over your wedding?
ReplyDeleteand a theme probably?
Good luck.. its like planning for your biggest day :)
lets follow each other? i already followed u
