Well ain't that the truth.
It most certainly is time to be toasting and doing the macarena on the table tops! I am beyond thrilled that the big week is here, and I'm kind of blown away by so many friends/family's texts, calls, emails, and facebook messages wishing us a beautiful week.
It seems to be working well, because I am as cool and calm as a cucumber and ready to get married to the love of my life o Saturday!
I know many brides kind start to unravel a bit the closer to the big day they get, and rightfully so. There are a million details to look after and people to coordinate, but I feel like we did a good job preparing. Now it;s just time to sit back, relax, and take in every sweet moment.
And hey... at the end of the night, if we end up married to each other, I would say it's a win-win! Everything else is just a cherry on top in my book... and I have a feeling like there are going to be a bowl full of cherries!
So anyway, here we are. I have the week off, and we have fun stuff to do!
Future hubby and I are headed out to heaven knows where to pick up our marriage license today. Since we're getting married in the cutest little town outside of KC, we have to go to that county office to snag our official papers... even if they're an hour away.
But don't you worry, we're going to make a fun little roadtrip out of it. Eat at a fun place, turn-up the radio, and just enjoy the ride.
Other To Do's (Today):
+ sweat sesh at the gym
+ work on wedding table numbers
+ organize decor
+ Zumba with my posse
+ DVR
+ face mask / bubble bath
Not too shabby!
Much more wedding fun (and behind the scenes photos!) coming this week. Not to mention, I have some AMAZING guest bloggers lined up to take over while I'm MIA in Antigua!
Thanks for your love, your sweet/encouraging comments, and just being great friends during a very happy time. It takes very special people to share in your joy and be happy with you.Experienced brides out there... any advice for little ol' me?
Yay!!! I hope you enjoy the time leading up to your big day, and just soak it all in!
ReplyDeleteMy one piece of advice is to make a point to stop and look at the view around you. We promised each other we'd do that through out the day and honestly those are the moments I remember. We would grab each other's hand get close and take 30 seconds to soak it all in. It was fun to whisper to each other what we were seeing and what we wanted to remember. It will go by fast so soak it up.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! Keep your cool girl and have an awesome WEEK! :)
ReplyDeleteYAYYYY!! So, so happy for you that you get to have a fun, relaxed week to really soak it all in. You will be such a beautiful bride. I cannot wait to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteWow, you seem so relaxed! That's awesome. YAY wedding!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's finally here!
ReplyDeleteYou have the best attitude about how the day should go, it's exactly how I felt at our wedding and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest! As long as your families love you, you don't fall down ;-) and you become a Mrs by the end of the night then it's a success!
I still cannot believe it's wedding week...haven't we been talking about this week for almost a year now?!?! And it's FINALLY HERE!!!!! EEEEEK! You are going to be the most beautiful bride in the world...I cannot wait to see pictures and hear all about it. Oh, and I've gotten into a real habit of reading blogs on my phone, so this is the first time I've seen your new design and I am IN LOVE! So fresh and clean. I am just so excited for you...enjoy every moment of this week, sweet Meg. Love you big time!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it! I listened to everyone's advice and took it all in through the day because it goes so quickly. But what I wish I had have done now, is spent a few minutes each day in the week leading up to the day to write down and remember why I was marrying my husband and what it was I loved about him. The week before tended to be all about the wedding, and not about the love. I missed that on the big day :( I actually wrote a blog post about it a while back, wishing I could get married again where it's just about the love xx

Take time to enjoy the food, drinks, and dancing. Don't feel "obligated" to make rounds talking to every single guest. We tried and got distracted, but we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Something will go wrong so just take it in stride...but I'm sure you would anyway. :-) You're going to be a beautiful bride. I'm so happy & excited for you - congratulations friend! -Lindy
ReplyDeleteMy advice is don't sweat the small stuff. It is what it is! If a table runner is messed up, or your shoes get lost, it is okay. Does anyone ever walk away from a wedding and go, "wow those table runners were awful?" NOPE! Ha! They walk away (hopefully) saying how much fun it was!! Happy wedding week!
ReplyDeleteHappy wedding week!! So fun! Enjoy every second!
ReplyDeleteCherish every single second of your day - I can honestly recount almost every minute just because I was making such an effort to be in the moment (the good and not-so-good your sisters show up an hour late for pictures and the AC at the reception doesn't work moments) and I'm so glad! David wrote me a long email first thing in the morning on our wedding day and I wrote my last blog post as a Miss and those are some of my most treasured pieces of writing ever. Take a couple minutes alone during the reception to really take in everything and everyone who's there celebrating with you. I wish we'd done this more - Just the two of us seeing months of hard work come together and years of dating finally end in/begin a marriage! Basically, ENJOY your day as a bride and groom, because it's the only one you get and it's over in the blink of an eye. You'll be absolutely stunning, and I can't wait to see pictures!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your final countdown! I am nervous for you! Hope everything is as you wish it to be and that you feel like a princess, and is treated like one!
ReplyDeleteMy advice: I just took some wedding photos of my good friend Carole and her now-hubby Cody, and there's one thing I can't stress enough: delegate. You have surrounded yourselves with good people who would LOVE to help you before/on your day (which is rapidly approaching!), so feel comfortable asking for help. Trust me, it's easier that way and everybody will work 20x harder because they want to make your day perfect.
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! I'm soooo excited for you! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's almost here!! So happy for you, girl! I agree with Sar-- DELEGATE! It's your wedding-- let other people take care of you. :) Hope this weekend is even better than you can imagine. :)
ReplyDeleteso much love and so many congratulations for this weekend!
ReplyDeleteLooking back.. I worried about the most simple things that didn't even matter in the end.. the real memories are in the corny conga line and electric slide haha... enjoy every second girly.. and have fun being a beautiful bride! :)
