After a week of unhealthy eating I'm back on my super healthy food kick. After doing whole30 I realized how much better I feel without processed foods.
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever tried a green smoothie...is that crazy!? After a birthday weekend I've been a little TOO indulgent...ice cream, cake, cookies...bad. I need to get on a healthier kick soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you put in your green smoothies? I've been bad this week, I seriously have been eating pizza rolls likes its my job lol!
ReplyDeleteMelissa
Anything cheesy...but when am I not! Haha. After a weekend of overindulging, I need to get it in check. Happy Monday, Meg!
ReplyDeleteI'm really wanting some wingers boneless wings, but it's not a good plate to eat with all those calories in it, but thats what I'm craving!
ReplyDeleteI am definitiely back on a healthy eating kick...eating REAL food with only a few splurges here and there. I feel so much better in just 3 weeks...more energy and looser britches. :)
ReplyDeleteWe are on a slow carb diet, well my husband more than me, due to some recent doctors orders, but we've been doing shredded meat (take your pick, we're loving the crock pot) with beans, homemade guacamole and salsa...so good and filling and no carbs!
ReplyDeleteQuinoa!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been all about breakfast food. IHOP is my go to place:)
ReplyDeleteI've been doing a lot of smoothies lately too. Love these link ups!
ReplyDeleteI'm on a homemade pizza kick! I use the Flat Out bread for the pizza crust and could literally have that for dinner every night! haha
ReplyDeletePopcorn is my lifelong craving, and lately my husband has been buying a cheesy popcorn mixed with caramel corn. I hate caramel, so I eat all his cheesy popcorn (because I adore cheesy popcorn). Is he a fan of this, you ask? Not so much. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have been loving ice cream with oreo pieces in it! And Mexican food!
ReplyDeleteYES! I am in the same boat. My hubby finally got home after being gone almost 2 weeks, so he was feeling like homemade chocolate chip cookies and comfort food. Back to cleaner eating for me this week too!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO crazy!! I love green smoothies. I am not great about getting veggies in my diet (I am a fruit girl), so it's easy for me to sneak 1-2 cups of spinach in my smoothies for extra fiber/nutrients because I can't taste them! :) And I can definitely relate to you today after overindulging this weekend - back to healthy today!
ReplyDeleteHey Melissa! Great question - I tend to switch it up a lot, but this will give you a good idea with the smoothie I made this morning:
ReplyDelete- 1-2 cups loose spinach
- 2/3 cup raspberries
- 2/3 cup strawberries
- 1/3 cup blueberries
- 1 single serving yoplait greek yogurt (blueberry or strawberry)
- 1/2 cup v8 light berry juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tablespoon chia seeds
- stevia to sweeten if needed (depends on the amount of acidic fruits)
Hahaha - Jess I think cheese is your main food group, and this is why we are friends! So thankful for grace and moderation which allows me to eat cookies on Friday nights and smoothies on the weekdays. Learning the art of balancing!
ReplyDeleteMmmm that sounds good (my stomach is rumbling!)! It's all about balance right? A little wings... a lot of celery! :)
ReplyDeleteI am trying to get back to the place you are at right now. It's so true - it's incredible the impact food has on energy level, mood, etc. and I am trying to get back into it after a few too many weekend indulgences! I like the idea of looser pantaloons too! ;) Haha!
ReplyDeleteMmmm! What are your favorite way to prepare it, Jenn? (Can you tell I am gleaning ideas for this week's menu?) haha
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the way you think, Sarah! We are Mexican fanatics, so cutting out some of those unnecessary carbs and still getting the taste we love would be great!
ReplyDeleteI will gladly accompany you on said IHOP dates. I mean after all, eating a stack of pancakes is just mutual support for your pregnancy cravings! ;)
ReplyDeleteHey Carissa! Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by, my smoothie loving friend!
ReplyDeleteOh girl... you are making me HUNGRY! Homemade pizza sounds incredible! What are your fave toppings? I could do some mushroom + pep action!
ReplyDeleteJust found your linkup, thanks for hosting! I have wanted Sonic slushes a lot more lately - probably because the weather has been so nice, and slushes remind me of summer!
ReplyDeleteI'm on a Beachbody food kick! I'm anxiously waiting for my chocolate shakeology to arrive and I'm SO EXCITED!
ReplyDeleteI loved Whole30! But sadly, as soon as I eat anything processed after it, I gain all the weight back.... still trying to figure out a good system because I can't eat Whole30 all the time as much as I wish I could!
ReplyDeleteThat right there is why I NEED the smoothies, I'm a fruit lover too and it's a lot harder for me to get excited about the veggies. I think my little guy would love them too! (Looking at your recipe below--may have to try it!)
ReplyDeleteYeah, me too. It's crazy how good I feel when I stick to Whole30, and how quickly I feel like poo when I'm off it completely. I am trying to be 90% Whole30 with sometimes wine and dairy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting your link up Meg! Come on over and link up with Style Nudge Link Up.

I need to get back into Healthy eating but I had Macca's tonight ... :(
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you gals! If I could find a good balance of mostly following it with a few allowances, I would feel awesome!
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely! Start out with flavors you like and then add different flavors in there! In the spring summer, I add ice to keep it chilled and smoothie/slushy-ish, and it's delish!
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet - you are very welcome, I love hosting! Welcome to Life of Meg - I hope you become a regular!! :) And yes, we just drove through Sonic Sunday night and a slush tasted so good! My fave is lemon berry!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, girl! It's always awesome to get on a kick with something HEALTHY that also tastes good!!
ReplyDeleteHey Cherie - you're welcome! I will definitely come drop by - thanks for the invite!
ReplyDeleteGood for you lady! I did Whole 30 about 1.5 years ago and felt awesome! I need to move back that direction and jumpstart betting eating habits again!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Oh Seng, you crack me up! You can't go wrong with delicious banana bread! Any other funny cravings?
ReplyDeleteThat's okay, my friend! All in moderation, right? I'm sure it was so delicious!! Thanks for dropping by!!
ReplyDeleteI'm on a fruit smoothie kick: just fruit and coconut water! It's incredible, refreshing and guilt-free!! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of you! Whole30 was the best but it's tough to keep up! I'm doing Beachbody's 21 Day Fix Program right now and that's even harder! Sigh...
